A night of beer and rock n’roll at a pub in Oakham has raised money for two worthy causes.

Local band Hot Liquor Treatment, made up of staff at the Grainstore Brewery in Station Approach, Oakham, played a number of songs to a packed out audience at the pub.

The gig was held in aid of the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and Marie Curie Cancer Care, and more than £400 was raised on the evening.

The funds will be split between the two charities.

The band members include lead singer Dave Hudson, guitarist John Smith, bass guitarist Jeff Davies and drummer Roland Wilson.

Sue Davies, who is married to Jeff and helped organise the event, said: “The place was packed and everyone enjoyed the event. The band played 12 songs, which covers of rock and pop numbers.

“It was really successful and raised a lot of money for two good causes.”
