Tributes:

Such a lovely little boy taken far to soon.

A bright smile, a cheeky glint, memories to cherish.

Take care of each other where ever you may be,

You will be remembered always -

Do not stand at my grave and weep

I am not there, I do not sleep

I am a 1,000 winds that blow

I am the diamond glints on snow

I am the sun on ripened grain

I am the gentle autumn rain

When you awaken in the morning’s hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled light

I am the soft star that shines at night

Do not stand at my grave and cry

I am not there; I did not die

Rachael Hill

My son fell in a pond feeding ducks and could have drowned and this news has brought back the nightmare of this day three years ago. There is no life ring, why? In my case, I was told that its because it’s a natural pond and not man made. Why did you have to die when maybe this could have saved your lives, if I had campaigned, then maybe I could have had life rings placed at all ponds in the country, why has no one thought about putting in a ledge or step to help assist exiting water if such a tragic accident happened. The pictures of my injuries saving my son I have kept, maybe these could be used to stop this happening again, maybe the loss of your lives will not be in vain, maybe people will take notice and safety aids put in place. Feeding ducks is supposed to be a fun occasion making fond childhood memories.

I never knew you, but have been deeply affected by your deaths and shed many tears. Grandma take care of your Grandson, your family will take some comfort knowing that you will look after him as you walk together with the angels. You both deeply loved each other and paid the ultimate price of your life, no one will ever blame you, you died trying to save each other. May you both Rest In Peace.
