A group of cyclists pedalled from London to Paris and raised £4,200 for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire air ambulance.

The nine Bourne residents who call themselves Sweet Sensations Cycling Crew - Douglas Main, Gillian Main, Chris Adnitt, Ali Atkins, Paul Stark, Linda Lawson, Jack Marren Cooper, Gill Jackson and Sunny Klawiter - biked more than 300 miles to the French capital over four days in May.

The team were accompanied by a supporter crew of Mick Marren, Pete Hulme, and Archie and Ollie Marren Cooper, also from Bourne.

Mr Main said the ride was “challenging but also very enjoyable” even though they got lost a couple of times and ended up cycling 320 miles instead of 290.

The money they raised has been presented last week to Heather and Tom Chambers of the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance.

Mr Main said: “The Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance has been needed in our area on many occasions so we had planned to raise money for them some time ago.”
