A nine-year-old rugby player was flown to hospital in an air ambulance after suffering a back injury during a match.
The boy was hurt during a game in Oakham at about 11.15am yesterday (Sunday).
Emergency services were called and East Midlands Ambulance Service paramedics gave the boy pain relief before a crew from Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance landed on the pitch.
The boy was immobilised with a collar and placed on a scoop stretcher before being airlifted to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment.
His current condition has not been revealed.
