Boy, seven, hurt in quad bike crash near Stamford

A seven-year-old boy was airlifted to hospital after falling from a quad bike.

The accident happened in a field off the A1, north of Stamford, at about 2pm yesterday (Sunday). A helicopter from Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance was called and landed in the field at about 2.15pm.

Helimedics assessed the boy for head and back injuries and he was given pain relief before being immobilised and airlifted along with his mother to Peterborough City Hospital for further treatment. The boy’s current condition is not known.
