Builder appeals for return of stolen dog

A BUILDER is appealing for the return of his family's beloved springer spaniel which was stolen with his van earlier this week.

Richard Prodger, 53, last saw Tilley the liver and white spaniel in the back of his Nissan Navara pick-up truck outside the Hereward Homes development in First Drift, Wothorpe. He had just taken her for a walk on Tuesday afternoon.

When he returned half an hour later, at 3.30pm, the truck and Tilley had both gone.

Mr Prodger says that losing Tilley has devasted his nine-year-old daughter Rebecca and his wife Vivienne.

The family, who live in Duck End, Denford, near Thrapston, Northamptonshire is appealing for help in tracking down the three-year-old spaniel.

Site manager Mr Prodger said: "My daughter was very upset. It was heartbreaking having to tell her that Tilley was missing.

"I just hope that she hasn't been dumped on the side of the road. If anyone has seen her please give us a call."

Gun dog Tilley was locked up in a cage in the back of the truck along with hand and power tools.

Anyone with information can contact Mr Prodger on 07779 304814.
