Casino night for poorly twins

A SPORTS bar is holding a fundraising casino night in aid of twins suffering from an incurable disease.

Q@Southside Sports Bar in Roman Bank, off Cherryholt Road, is holding the casino on Saturday night to raise money for 15-month-old twins Lydia and Ella Thompson, of Station Road, Morton, who are suffering from Tay Sachs. The condition means harmful quantities of a fatty substance build up in tissues and nerve cells in the brain and means that mental and physical abilities deteriorate over time. They are unlikely to live to the age of four.

Tickets cost 10 and include a glass of bubbly, canapes, casino chips to start and live music, with all of the proceeds from ticket sales going to the twins. There will also be prizes including vouchers and a holiday. The night will start at 7.30pm.

Q@Southside partner Adam Henderson said: "As a parent of a young child myself, I think it's important to show our support by doing something which can make a difference to Lydia and Ella's lives, however small."

To book tickets call in at the bar or call 01778 423163.
