Pupils at Catmose College managed to snap a ‘selfie’ with Education Secretary MP Michael Gove during a visit to the BBC’s London headquaters.

The youngsters were taking part in the BBC News School Report and a selection of pupils were given the task of preparing questions for an education special.

After the serious education questions had been asked, the pupils were able to ask Mr Gove more lighthearted questions such as; his first kiss; his guilty secret; and his worst punishment after Labour leader Ed Miliband claimed he was “consigned to the naughty step” by the prime minister during the Budget speech.

Year 10 pupil Alice Tatlow asked about his interest in rapping and whether he would rap for the group. To their surprise, he quickly did a rendition of a Wham rap.

Alice said: “Interviewing Michael Gove was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Despite the criticism he seems to be getting about his rap, I think that it was excellently done.”
