Catmose College pupils bag a great idea to raise cash to fund Africa trip
Georgia Harris, 14, left, and Jemima Feely, 13, are fundraising for a college trip to Ghana by making bags out of old newspapers
PRO-ACTIVE pupils are coming up with innovative ways to fund a trip to Africa.
Georgia Harris, 14, and Jemima Feely, 13, are just two out of a group of about 30 pupils from Catmose College who are saving to go to Ghana next year.
The group will volunteer in the country by helping to create a water supply and work in an orphanage.
It is costing them £1,300 each and Georgia and Jemima contacted the Mercury to ask whether they could have some old newspapers to make bags out of to sell.
Georgia said: “I’m really excited about the trip.
“I want to help children in Africa.”
Georgia and Jemima are selling the bags in school.
