Chances to learn basic first aid at courses in Stamford and Deeping

TWO basic first aid courses will be running to teach people how to cope in an emergency.

Stamford Red Cross is running an Everyday First Aid session at its centre in Maiden Lane, Stamford, on Tuesday to teach people skills including what signs to look for in a stroke, unconscious people and burns and how to assist them.

The session runs from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and is free for people to attend. People are advised to book a place by calling Chris Morgan on 07912080919.

Deeping Red Cross is running the course for people who fear the skills are too difficult to remember or that they are not physically strong enough to do them.

The two-hour course includes “hands only” CPR, which doesn’t require mouth-to-mouth resuscitation, and how to deal with bleeding and injuries caused by falls or accidents.

The course is at Deeping Community Centre on Tuesday, March 27, from 2pm to 4pm and costs £8.
