Charity saxophone fundraiser success
Steve Freemantle
A charity fundraiser spent a morning collecting cash for Macmillan Cancer Care by busking outside shops in Ruskington.
Steve Freemantle of Ruskington taught himself to play the tenor saxophone, and although not professing to be very good, managed to play for three hours in the freezing cold outside the Ruskington Coop store wearing green tutu, wig and T-shirt.
He said he received a good response, earning £191.69 in donations. He said: “I got a few jokes about my playing, but one lady came over and said it was a beautiful sound and I was doing really well. ”
This adds to the £21,000 raised earlier this year with the Sunrise to Sunset ride event.
