Charity golfers are just tee-rific

THE day may have been blustery but 76 women competed in this year's Cancer Research UK Ladies Golf Tournament.

The annual event organised by Rutland Group of Friends was held last week at North Luffenham Golf Club.

Organiser Jan Devlin thanked everyone who supported the event and the committee of North Luffenham Golf Club which donated green fees for the event to the charity.

The event was won by Beryl Crossland and Wendy Higgs of Greetham Golf Club.

Rutland Group of Friends of Cancer Research UK chairman Sue Jarron presented Chloe Higgins, of Cancer Research UK, with a cheque for 2,500.

The Friends holds a women’s luncheon club on the second Tuesday of every month at Greetham Valley Golf Club and Hotel.

Anyone interested in joining should contact Sue Jarron on 01780 722084.
