A CELEBRITY chef dropped into an antiques shop on Sunday.
Marco Pierre White visited Stuart Porter Antiques in Broad Street, Stamford, to buy some prints of pears for one of his restaurants.
Mr Porter has known the popular chef for many years and invited him to the shop, where he also sampled a cake in the tea room.
Mr Porter said: “Marco said it was the best cake he had since he was a boy, which was a great compliment.
“It was nice of him to come to Stamford.”
Mr Pierre White was impressed with what he saw and left a message in the guest book describing it as “the jewel in Stamford’s crown”.
While in Stamford, Mr Pierre White also visited the Fine Food Store in St Mary’s Street, Stamford.
