The Christmas lights in Stamford will be switched on during a programme of events.
Stamford Town Council is hosting the evening on Friday in Red Lion Square.
Rutland Radio will be leading events between 4pm and 4.30pm, Stamford Endowed Schools will provide entertainment between 4.30pm and 5pm, Wildcats will perform between 5pm and 5.45pm. After Santa and the mayor Bob Sandall will arrive on a sleigh before primary school choirs sing between 6pm and 6.30pm. The countdown to the big switch on will be at 6.30pm and will be followed by a fireworks display.
The town council is also hosting Stamford Christmas Festival on Sunday, December 9, between 10am and 4pm, when there will be lots of activities in the town centre.
