Council could take control of Oakham open space
A council could take control of an area of open space.
Tresham College has offered to grant a 99-year lease of the open space off Barleythorpe Road, Oakham, to Rutland County Council for a peppercorn rent.
The council would prefer the land be leased directly to Oakham Town Council, but would also be prepared to sub-let.
On Tuesday the county council’s cabinet voted to recommend the full council promote the granting of the lease.
