Court Register: Results from recent court cases

Here are the recent results from magistrates’ courts in our area.

We do not carry minor speeding offences.

Loughborough Magistrates’ Court, January 29

Robert Walker, 34, of Stocken Prison, Stretton, admitted causing £737.56 of damage to a cell on March 31, 2013, and £5,350.90 of damage to furniture within a cell on April 13, 2013.

He was given a 16-week prison sentence, to run concurrent to his existing sentence.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court, January 31

Harrod Cox, 35, of Beech Avenue, Bourne, admitted driving without insurance or a licence in Rippingale on July 31, 2013.

He had six points put on his licence, was fined £400, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £40.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court, February 3

Cameron Kennedy, 18, of Burghley Close, Great Casterton, admitted drink driving, driving without a licence or insurance in Bath Row, Stamford, on November 15, 2013.

He gave a reading of 69 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath. The legal limit is 35 microgrammes.

He was disqualified from driving for 18 months, fined £230, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £23.

Martin Prince, 33, of Barleycroft Road, Corby Glen, admitted stealing a case of wine worth £22 from a garage in Walsingham Drive, 
Corby Glen, on December 22, 2013.

He also admitted stealing a can of Lynx bodyspray, a pair of Addidas trousers and 
four T-shirts from several shops in Grantham on January 6.

He was given a community order and told to carry out 80 hours of unpaid work within the next year. He was also ordered to pay compensation of £3.66, costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £60.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court, February 6

Saul Parsons, 23, of Haconby Lane, Morton, admitted using threatening words or behaviour towards another man in Tallington on August 8, 2013.

He was ordered to carry out 60 hours of unpaid work within the next year, pay costs of £250 and a victim surcharge of £60.

Jonathan Miller, 30, of Kesteven Road, Stamford, admitted failing to stop after an accident in Churchill Road, Stamford, on January 12, and failing to provide a breath test.

He was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £365, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £22.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court, February 7

Mary Sailes, 66, of McKenzie Court, Bourne, admitted drink driving on November 4, 2012. She gave a reading of 44 microgrammes of alcohol in 100ml of breath.

She was disqualified from driving for 12 months, fined £200, ordered to pay costs of £100 and a victim surcharge of £20.

Miroslaw Stanejko, 33, of Merlin Close, Bourne, admitted driving without insurance in Kings Road, Spalding, on August 8, 2013.

He had six points put on his licence, was fined £400, ordered to pay costs of 
£85 and a victim surcharge of £40.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court, February 10

Josh Garner, 18, of Tanners Lane, Corby Glen, admitted resisting a PC in his duty and being drunk and disorderly in Market Place, Bourne, on January 18.

He was fined £165, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £20.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court February 12

James Bowler, 21, of Stanley Street, Bourne, was found guilty of driving without insurance in South Road, Bourne, on August 5, 2013.

He had six points put on his licence, was fined £600, ordered to pay costs of 
£85 and a victim surcharge of £60.

Kevin Rate, 44, of Finn Close, Bourne, admitted failing to keep five firearms in a 
secure and locked cabinet as required by his shotgun licence.

He was fined £665, ordered to pay costs of £85 and a victim surcharge of £66.

Grantham Magistrates’ Court, February 17

Kerry Cole, 31, of Cornwall Road, Stamford, was found guilty of watching television without a licence at her home address between September 23 and October 1, 2013.

She was fined £200, ordered to pay costs of £90 and a victim surcharge of £20.
