A determined cricketer is over half way through his marathon offroad trek.

Former Oakham School pupil Matt Boyce, who plays for Leicestershire County Cricket Club, is now more than 650 miles into his walk from John O’Groats to Land’s End in aid of mental health charity Mind.

Matt said: “There are so many people in the arena of professional sport who have suffered or are suffering right now with mental issues, yet there is a massive stigma surrounding depression almost making it a taboo subject. By doing this I hope to help, in some way, to lift that stigma.”
