Dancers entertain crowd

CHURCH funds were boosted by about £1,700 on Saturday when Seaton hosted its summer fete.

Money raised from the stalls, games, tombola and entertain-ment will go towards All Hallows Church in the village.

The event was organised by Daphne James and Phillipa Hopcroft. It included maypole dancing by Uppingham CE Primary School pupils and a performance by Gretton Silver Band.

Mrs James said: “It was a quintessential English fete which was very well supported. Barrowden hosted its fete the same day and lots of people seemed to have attended both which was good.”
