A 40-year-old woman has been charged with grievous bodily harm and drink driving following an incident in Oakham.
Police were called to a block of flats in Derwent Drive at about 12.50pm yesterday (Tuesday) to find a 47-year-old man suffering from a knife wound.
He was airlifted to Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham to be treated for wounds to his lower abdomen. He has since been released.
The woman, from Oakham, will appear at Loughborough Magistrates Court this morning (Wednesday).
Paramedics and East Midlands Emergency Care Scheme doctor Leon Roberts attended the scene before a Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance helicopter landed in the street at about 1.15pm and flew the injured man to hospital.
Derwent Drive was closed between Welland Way and Braunston Road for several hours while police carried out investigations.
Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101.
