Designer clothes sale raises a massive £37,000 for charity

A TWO-DAY sale of designer clothes helped pull in more than £37,000 to provide vital support for cancer patients.

Hundreds of people went to Barnsdale Lodge Hotel on Friday and Saturday for a major Good as New Clothing Sale organised by Rutland MacMillan Cancer Support.

A range of high quality designer outfits were snapped up by people who showed up, including exquisitely-designed frocks. Money raised over the two days will boost the funds of the county branch of the cancer charity.

Organiser Elizabeth Mills said the occasion was a great success.

"We would like to thank everybody who came along," she said. "In the current economic climate the money raised exceeded expectations and we had a fabulous turnout."
