A MAN was airlifted to hospital following a three-vehicle collision in Kettering Road, Wothorpe this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene just after 1pm to find a blue Subaru car turned upside down in the verge of the road.
The driver, a man in his mid-40s, was taken to University Hospital Coventry by the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland air ambulance.
A silver Ford Mondeo and a white VW Crafter van were also involved in the collision, which took place near the A1 sliproad.
The road was closed for almost five hours but has now reopened.
Air ambulance paramedic Sarah Norman said the driver was unconscious and had a suspected fractured shoulder, leg and possible internal injuries.
One of the other drivers was taken to Peterborough City Hospital and the other driver is understood to have had only minor injuries.
