Empty warehouse in Ryhall Road, Stamford, could be turned into gym

An application to transform a warehouse into a gym has been submitted.

Father and son Nicholas and Samuel Swann want to turn the warehouse in Ryhall Road, Stamford, into a Rhino’s Gymnasium and have submitted an application to South Kesteven District Council.

In the application, the pair state the 8,000 sq ft gym would improve the selection of gyms in the area.

The unit they are proposing to develop has been empty since July and the application states: “It is in the interests of the town to utilise this facility, a gymnasium would fulfil this requirement and provide a much-needed service for the people of Stamford and surrounding area as it is severely lacking in health and fitness facilities.”

If approved, the pair promise to provide good quality gym equipment at low cost and with low membership fees and no joining fee.

It would create more than 10 jobs and would open 7am until 9pm Monday to Friday and 7am to 8pm Saturday and Sunday.

The pair were not available to comment on the plans when contacted by the Mercury.
