Stamford Town Council will be celebrating the life and times of its famous son Sir Malcolm Sargent.
Through a series of Friday tours, led by town hall volunteer guide Penny Rowley and Leicester Symphony Orchestra archivist Sam Dobson, the tours will include a talk on Sir Malcolm’s life.
He was one of the best known conductors of choral and orchestral music of the 20th Century.
Those attending the two-hour tours will have the opportunity to view the Sargent memorabilia and visit places in the town associated with his life.
Tours start at 2.30pm from the Malcolm Sargent room at Stamford Town Hall and cost £3 each. Proceeds go towards Town Hall Restoration Fund.
