A charity shop in Oakham has been given a big makeover.

The Cancer Research UK shop in Market Place reopened on Monday with a new layout and a host of new items in store.

It is one of just six stores across the UK selected to receive a special boutique-style upgrade in which all aspects of the shop have been refreshed to improve the shopping experience for customers.

The shop, which has been trading for more than 25 years, was closed for a week for the refurbishment work, which includes bright lighting, wooden hangers and colourful lampshades, being installed.

There is also more space for stock and better changing room facilities.

Shop manager Wendy Henderson said. “We can’t wait for customers to see our beautiful new-look shop and look forward to welcoming customers through the door.”
