Two long-serving Salvation Army Majors have left their post to take up new appointments.

Majors Richard and Heather Durrant said farewell to the Bourne Corps last month.

The couple have been Commanding Officers in Bourne for the last seven years and have made a big impact and some endearing friends, not only at the Army but throughout the town.

Major Heather had serious health problems earlier this year and has been heartened by the response of concern throughout the community.

They leave Bourne to take up their next appointment as Corps Officers of the Salvation Army at North Walsham in Norfolk. They go with all the love and prayers of the local community.

A special service called Thanks for the Memories was held to wish them farewell.
