Santa opened the Christmas fair at Dyke Village Hall on Saturday before taking to his grotto where he was busy all afternoon.

The event raised about £670 through a combination of stalls, tombola, games and prize draw.

Dyke Village Hall committee treasurer Trevor Mele said: “It all went very well and it was very well attended.

“There were plenty of villagers there and we get lots of support from the surrounding area.

“We are very happy with the turnout and very happy with the final result.”

The money raised at the event will go towards the upkeep of the village hall which can be booked for hire by calling 01778 421243.
