Fete raises raised for Wesfield Primary School in Bourne

THERE was a warm glow at Westfield Primary School in Bourne on Sunday - and it wasn't just caused by the sunshine.

The Friends of the school organised a fete and raised 3,000 much-needed funds.

Displays included gymnastics, yoga, cheerleading and karate, while the school's rock, jazz, and steel pan bands entertained the crowds.

Other activities included games, stalls and refreshments. The school's environmental area was also open to visitors.

A Dakota flypast brought the fete to a close at about 5pm.

Fete organiser and chairman of the friends committee Ann Wright said glorious weather throughout the day ensured its success.

She said: "The fete went extremely well from start to finish helped by the glorious weather and to date about 3,000 has been raised which will provide much needed facilities at the school.

"I would like to thank all the parents, staff and children for supporting this event, also all members of the Friends of Westfield who worked as an amazing team to ensure the event ran smoothly."

She also thanked local companies, which supported the fete.
