BREAKFAST lovers are being invited to take part in a “Big Breakfast Challenge” in aid of Great Ormond Street Hospital.

The challenge has been set by Fillings Road Cafe in Pillings Road, Oakham.

Owner Lesley Housley and her daughters Francesca and Danielle Munton, of Ashwell Road, Oakham, will host the event on March 31 and are looking for people who are hungry to take part.

Entrants will be challenged to eat four sausages, four bacon rashers, four eggs, four hash browns, four slices of black pudding, four slices of toast or bread and butter, tomatoes, beans, mushrooms and chips.

Each contestant will pay £12 entry and the first to finish the mammoth breakfast will have their entry money refunded.

The group were hoping for about 10 contestants but they have already had a lot of interest in the competition.

There is a Justgiving page for people who do not want to take part and still want to donate. Each contestant is also being encouraged to get their own sponsorship to boost the funds for the hospital.

For information about signing up to the competition contact Fillings Road Cafe through its Facebook page or contact Lesley on 07979 424224 Monday to Saturday from 8am to 2.30pm.
