A family will be gripped to their computer screens to watch their son compete in the television show China’s Got Talent.
Former Bourne Grammar School pupil Chris Webster entered the contest with his band Red Rainbows.
He works as a project leader for a visa company in China and plays percussion and performs backing vocals for the band in his spare time.
Chris, 27, said: “We are through to the first round of the national television version which begins at the end of November. Compared to the competition we had, including an 80-year-old man doing a crazy yoga routine, we were quietly confident of getting through. But we don’t care about winning - it’s the taking part that counts.”
Chris’ mum Tessa Goldsmith, of Morton, has been watching the band’s progress over the internet. She said: “It is really exciting to watch. I’m very proud.”
The band’s performance can be seen on-line at live.hoolo.tv/hzsh/index.php by clicking on 17.18.
