Friends strip for charity calendar

A GROUP of friends have fulfilled their naked ambition to support two great causes by stripping off for a calendar.

Bar staff and footballers were among those to get their kit off to raise money for a children's hospice and the county's air ambulance.

Wedding planner Hannah Solomons, of Hand Maid Weddings & Events, is the brains behind the Rutland and Leicestershire Calendar Boys 2010 venture,

The 29-year-old, from Horninghold in Leicestershire, said: "I'm relieved that the photoshoots are over and really pleased with the results.

"Some of the models were a bit nervous beforehand, but they were all such good sports, and I think they enjoyed it more than they dare to admit."

Among those who dared to bare all were staff from The Grainstore Brewery and Top 555 Supercars in Oakham, Rutland and Cotswold Construction, The Exeter Arms football team and Uppingham Taxi Office.

Grainstore barman Rick Phoenix said: "It was a bit surreal getting your kit off in your place of work, but we are always up for a laugh and it was good fun."

The calendar will be on sale from the middle of November, priced 4.50, at the Exeter Arms, Don Paddy's and Ballgown Heaven in Uppingham, the Grainstore Brewery in Oakham, The Noel Arms and Whitwell Hotel and Conference Centre and Halo Jewellery in Market Harborough. They can also be pre-ordered online at www.andycross photographer.com for 5 plus 2.75 postage and packing.

Money raised will be split between the Derbyshire, Leicestershire and Rutland Air Ambulance and the Rainbow's Children's Hospice in Loughborough.
