Fuel stations restock before strikes
STRIKE threats from tanker drivers supplying Jet fuel stations should not disrupt supplies to local forecourts.
A seven-day strike last week caused the Sycamore garage in North Street East, Uppingham and Tallington Service Station to ration the amount of fuel customers could purchase.
Both now say they are confident they have at least a week’s supply of fuel in stock.
Supplies have arrived from alternative sources at Adams and Sons on the A47 in Morcott and more deliveries were expected before strikes resume.
Staff at Tallington have also sought alternative suppliers for diesel and have restricted lorry drivers to 100 litres.
More than 120 Drivers from Wincanton, who supply the petrol station franchise, announced a second week of strikes on Wednesday but have delayed their action until 5am today.
