People have been getting into the Christmas spirit and donating presents to vulnerable children through a Rotary Club appeal.

The Rotary Clubs of Uppingham’s annual Christmas tree appeal is well underway.

Trees have been put up in businesses, schools and health centres around Rutland. Each tree is covered in labels with the age and gender of a child, and people are asked to pick a label and take back an appropriate present.

Presents will be accepted until Monday. They will be given to children helped by Melton and Rutland Home-Start.

Trees have been put up in Empingham Medical Centre in Main Street, Empingham, The Falcon Hotel, in High Street East, Uppingham, and Market Place Dental Health Practice in Uppingham.
