Get tickets for commemoration service for Second World War heroes the Dam Busters

A service of commemoration to the famous Second World War Dam Busters is being held at Lincoln Cathedral on May 17.

The event is ticket entry only and there are 1,000 free tickets available to the public, limited to two per household, on a first-come-first-served basis.

Executive Member for Cultural Services at Lincolnshire County Council, coun Eddy Poll (Con) said: “Lincolnshire played a major part in the war, and there were over 25,000 airmen who left Lincolnshire on bombing missions never to return.

“This service will commemorate their sacrifice and will be completed with a flypast by the Lancaster of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight and a pair of Tornado aircraft from 617 Squadron.”

To be in with a chance of obtaining tickets, send your contact details and a stamped, addressed envelope to: Dam Busters Cathedral Event, Lincolnshire Archives, St Rumbold Street, Lincoln, LN2 5AB.
