Scores of girls laced up their boots to take part in a special football workshop.

More than 30 youngsters attended the event at Uppingham Community College on Saturday which was held to encourage girls throughout the county to take up the sport.

Coach Andrew Scott, who organised the event, along with Oakham team Royce Rangers and the Leicestershire and Rutland County Football Association, said: “It was good to see all the girls having a great time.”

The next workshop is being held at Catmose College on June 15, from 3 to 5pm.
