Grandson takes over family firm Coombe Farm Kennels

John and Kathleen Knipe, with their grandson Lawrence Knipe, who is taking over the family business Coombe Farm Kennels

A couple are set to hand over the reins of their family business to their grandson.

John and Kathleen Knipe, of Coombe Farm, Wilsthorpe, will make way for their grandson Lawrence Knipe to take over the running of Coombe Farm Kennels.

The couple are retiring after 36 years of boarding dogs.

The feel it is the right time to hand over their business.

Lawrence has been working for them and has trained in animal management at New College Stamford.

Kathleen said: “Lawrence is very enthusiastic and gets on well with customers and dogs alike.”

John and Kathleen will continue to live at Coombe Farm and will support Lawrence in his new role.

Kathleen will continue to meet the customers and their pets so will still be involved for a while.

Kathleen said: “I love walking dogs and it keeps me fit as well.

“We wish Lawrence all the best for the future and hope he will enjoy his time with the dogs as much as we have over the coming years.”
