Heating fuel stolen from property in Folkingham

Heating oil has been stolen from a tank in the garden of a vacant property in Folkingham.

The theft from the property in West Street, is believed to have happened in the last two weeks.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have seen suspicious people or vehicles in the area during the last couple of weeks to contact them on 101.

A police spokesman said: “We traditionally see an increase in thefts of heating oil from tanks at properties over the winter period. You can take steps to protect your oil tank, such as fitting a lock to the lid, or installing a level indicator which sounds an alarm if it detects a sudden drop in oil level.”
