High-value thefts in Stamford and Baston

Police are investigating several thefts in the area.

A petrol lawn mower, hedge trimmer and leaf blower worth about £500 were stolen from a shed in Exter Gardens, Stamford, between 4pm and 5pm yesterday (Sunday).

Any witnesses should call 101 quoting incident 65 of July 13.

A camera was stolen form a shop in St John’s Street, Stamford, at about 2.15pm on Saturday. Two men came into the shop, with one distracting staff while the other stole the camera. Police described the men as about 6ft tall, slim, unshaven, wearing white T-shirts, cut-off blue shorts and blue baseball caps. Incident 294 of July 12.

A police spokesman said: “Can we take this time to remind everyone to ensure that valuable and personal property be stored security and out of view of others where possible. Thieves who take these items are like magpies - if they see it, they will take it. Make sure it’s not yours.”

And a Kawasaki ZZR1100 motorbike was stolen from School Lane, Baston, at about 1.30pm on Tuesday last week. Incident 320 of July 8.

Police have also appealed for witnesses after a vehicle in St Mary’s Place, Stamford, was vandalised between midnight on Thursday and 6.30am on Friday last week. Incident 106 of July 11.
