Homes in Rutland could get solar panels for free thanks to grant
Residents in Rutland who can demonstrate they are finding electricity and gas bills challenging to pay for could get solar panels installed thanks to national grant funding.
Rutland County Council has been successful in securing £200,000 in funding from the Department of Energy and Climate Change to offer free solar panels to about 50 homes across Rutland as part of the national programme for energy saving improvements to homes.
Residents are urged to get in touch before midday on Friday next week to register their interest in being selected to receive the free installation.
To register, visit www.rutland.gov.uk and follow the homepage link or visit the Rutland County Council offices and complete an application form, or call the council on 01572 722 577 and provide your contact details.
