The Bourne branch of the U3A held an open day event on Monday at the re-opened Corn Exchange.

About 200 people enjoyed a lively afternoon of displays and performances showcasing the U3A’s activities.

Bourne mayor Helen Powell attended and took great interest in all the different activities on show that take place including: gardening, languages, wine appreciation, classical music, men’s cookery and creative writing.

Vice-chairman Christine Smeeth said: “We had a really good day, there were many more people than we thought and a lot of people showed interested in joining us.”
