Hundreds of shoppers were eager to get their hands on a range of designer clothes to help raise tens of thousands of pounds for charity.
The annual Good As New Clothing Sale was held at Barnsdale Lodge Hotel last weekend and organisers are hopeful that the event has raised more than £45,000 for Rutland Macmillan Cancer Support.
The event kicked-off on Friday evening, with a ticket-only sale, which included Champagne and canapés provided by Hambleton Hall, at the hotel.
More shoppers then flocked to the general sale on Saturday morning to buy items for women, men and children, which had been donated by local businesses and residents across the area.
Garments ranged from ballgowns to babygrows, and from hats to handbags.
Committee member Debbie Johnson, who helps organise the sale, said she was amazed at the support for the event.
She said: “We are delighted that early indications show we will have raised over £45,000.This is an amazing total.
“The Rutland Macmillan committee would like to thank everyone for their fantastic support.
“To everybody who attended the sale and bought, thank you.
“Thank you to all those who donated items to us, to everyone who helped with the huge task of preparing the clothing for the sale, to Hambleton Hall for providing delicious Champagne and canapés on Friday evening, to Barnsdale Lodge Hotel which provided us with the perfect venue, to Ron Grant removals for transporting our equipment and to everybody who gives their time in anyway.
“The event would not be the success it is without your help.”
