Is this friendly rabbit yours?

A WOMAN who found a pet rabbit is appealing for its owners to come forward.

The lop-eared peach coloured rabbit was found crossing Essex Road in Stamford on Saturday .

Penny Baker, who lives on the road, has taken in the rabbit after a neighbour mistakenly thought it belonged to her. It is now living in a hutch with her two pet guinea pigs.

She said: "We enticed it in off the road with a lettuce leaf.

"It is a beautiful rabbit and is very tame. We have held it and it is fine when you pick it up, so I am sure it must be a pet.

"We are quite willing to keep it, but my children would be distraught if our guinea pigs went missing, so there might be an owner out there who is missing it."

Anyone who thinks the rabbit is theirs is asked to call the Mercury newsdesk on 01780 750436.
