JD Wetherspoon applies to take over Mercury offices in Stamford
JD Wetherspoon has applied to turn the Mercury offices into a pub.
The chain has submitted an application to South Kesteven District Council to change the use of the building in Sheep Market, Stamford, from an office to a public house.
The plans would transform the ground floor into a family-friendly bar/restaurant with “external alterations and associated works along with the provision of an outside seating area and detached smoking shelter”.
The Mercury and the Stamford Mercury Archive Trust are looking to move to other premises in Stamford.
You can view the application and leave a comment on the district council’s website.
