Join conductors in visit to Rutland’s highest peak

Two conductors want people to join them as they visit the highest point in the county as part of a national fundraising challenge.

Chris Rawley and Paul Archibald, of The People’s Orchestra, will head to Cold Overton Park at 12.30pm on Friday.

The two men are attempting to scale the 91 historic county peaks in an attempt to raise £91,000 for community and art projects.

When they reach the highest point in Rutland they will play folk tunes from the area and collect donations.

Chris said: “We aim to be the best amateur orchestra in the country providing music for all. For this we need money and this is our way of raising it.”

Chris and Paul have been writing a blog about their challenge.

You can read it and find out dates and times for other visits at www.thepeoplesorchestra.com/blog or by following the #CountyPeaksChallenge hashtag.
