A school was thrilled to be given more than £1,000 from a village post office.

Ketton Primary School received the cheque on Friday from the Ketton Village Post Office outgoing owner Angie Angus, along with new owner Tim Chapman.

The money was raised from the post office’s Christmas raffle.

The funds are set to be put towards the purchase of iPads for the school’s technology department and new books.

Headteacher Glenn Fraser said: “It’s a very generous donation and we’re really really pleased. The children are very excited and have chosen the books they would like.

“We’re incredibly grateful not only to the post office but everyone in Ketton who bought tickets for the raffle.”
