Lee Ketteringham raises more than £1,000 to aid Jamie Andrews

A MAN raised more than £1,000 during a 24-hour pool marathon to help save the life of his friend’s son.
Lee Ketteringham, 33, of William Court, Stamford, took on the challenge at the Drum and Monkey pub on Saturday and Sunday to raise money to help six-year-old Jamie Andrews, son of childhood friend Sarah Allen and Dan Andrews.
Jamie, who lives in Peterborough, suffers from Diamond Blackfan Anaemia, an incurable disease which starves his body of oxygen.
His parents are trying to raise money for a saviour sibling, a baby born through IVF who will be a suitable bone marrow donor.
The family needs to raise about £13,000 for treatment.
Friends, family and pub customers stepped up to the table to help Lee out and by 8pm on Sunday he had raised £1,333.
Lee said: “I was aiming for £200 so was over the moon. Thanks to Sarah and Mark at the Drum and Monkey, David Herron who stayed with me for the full 24 hours, and the children at Teenzone for raising money beforehand.”
