A workman has been airlifted to hospital after falling from the roof of Wood Grange Care Home in Bourne.

A Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire helicopter was called to the scene and landed on the field at Bourne Westfield Primary Academy shortly after 9am this morning.

The man was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre in Nottingham.

A spokesman for Barchester Healthcare, which owns the care home, said: “We can confirm a man was injured while working at Wood Grange. We took immediate action to alert the emergency services and he has been taken to hospital.

“Our thoughts are with him and his family.”

An investigation is underway.
