A man who died after the car he was working under collapsed on him has been named as Stephen Koczka.
An inquest into the death of the 45-year-old has opened following the tragic incident which happened on May 1.
Emergency services were called to Mr Koczka’s home address in Bryony Way, Deeping St James, at about 3.20pm but he died from his injuries later that afternoon.
In a statement following the incident, a police spokesman said: “It appears the man had been working underneath his car on the driveway of the property when the jack collapsed and the car fell on top of him.
“Police are treating his death as a tragic accident.
“His next of kin have been made aware and a file will be passed to the coroner for an inquest to be carried out.”
The spokesman added: “He was given medical attention by emergency services but could not be saved and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.”
The file has now been passed on to the coroner, and an inquest will be carried out.
