Man taken to hospital after crash on A47 at Tixover

A man was taken to hospital after he crashed his car into a ditch yesterday (Sunday).

Police were called at 9.55am after reports that a Ford Mondeo had crashed on the A47 at Tixover. Fire crews from Uppingham attended and cut the man, who was the only occupant of the car, free.

The road was closed between 10.40am and 12.10pm to allow an air ambulance to land on the road but it was then decided the man’s injuries were not serious enough.

He was taken to Peterborough City Hospital by road ambulance with minor injuries.
