Man conned into buying smashed TV for £200

A HOMEOWNER has lost £200 when he bought a television from two men in a van.

The man in Eastgate, Bourne, bought a television from two men in a Kangoo van yesterday afternoon.

When the man unwrapped the television, he discovered the screen was smashed.

Police community support officer Sandra Brommell is warning homeowners not to buy goods in this way.

She said: "We think we are getting a bargain but we are just being conned."

The men were described as white with Irish accents.
