Mayor gets fresh ideas and top tips at market town seminar

The mayor of Bourne attended a free seminar last week about the role of market towns.

Bourne Town Councillor Helen Powell and South Kesteven District Councillor Judy Stevens from Deeping St James joined more than 70 people at the seminar in Retford to get fresh ideas on how to make towns a better place.

Coun Powell said: “It was an amazing day.

“We had four excellent presentations, giving us new ideas to help with events and services for our own towns.

“It was a very useful day.”

The seminar, which included a walking tour of Retford, was run by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.
